Finally, a fasyon phone that's not red or white!
The Nokia 7370 proves that fashionable doesn't necessarily mean flamboyant. With a housing painted in subdued colors and a modest trim, the phone is subtly stylish and not KSP fasyon.
The 7370's applications load almost without delay in its remarkably rich 262k-color 240 x 320-pixel display – so fast that when you accidentally select “delete all” in a message folder, you can still salvage a lot of your schmaltzy forwarded messages with the press of a button.
The unit also boasts of a 1.3-megapixel camera. But because the phone doesn't have a photo-light, the potential crispness that a megapixel camera can offer is compromised. Image noise will turn up when shooting indoors or at night. Moreover, taking too many photos and video clips at the highest quality will clog the handset's 10MB internal memory. Note that the 7370 doesn't have a memory card slot.
Consequently being too shutter-happy will leave less space for AAC and MP3 files, which the phone can play with its two loudspeakers. However, even activating the “stereo widening” option doesn't improve the quality of sound enough. There's no doubting, though, that the 7370's speakers are indeed loud.
So, the 7370 has plusses that offset the cons – or is it the other way around? But since the boys (and girls!) from Finland are positioning the unit as a fashion phone anyway, at least it does well in that aspect without going overboard. Hence, considering that this handset's not trying to be a smartphone, anyway, the absence of a card slot and flash are almost pardonable – at least by the fashion police. Chrissy D. Icamina
