Home Bass
Bringin’ the house down
In good ol’ RP, Klipsch has been MIA for a while. It seems, though, that it’s prepared for a rockin’ comeback. Known for manufacturing sweet-sounding speakers, the new GMX A-2.1 does the brand’s rep good.
It’s not exactly the most normal-looking speakers with its ultra-futuristic drivers. If you live in a designer home, there’s a remote chance this will fit in perfectly with your setup. The egg-shaped enclosure looks like it was taken straight from the Batmobile and that it’d blow jet fumes all over the room.
What it blows out though is nothing but top quality audio. Music from a humble iPod came to life in an instant. Even with the ‘Pod’s bass reducer EQ setting picked, the Klipsch still rocked the walls with great force.
The control console is a welcome feature of the GMX. Unlike most 2.1 speakers that has the bass level control built onto the sub, the Klipsch has its conveniently located on the console so there’s no need to bend and reach over to the sub if your music sounds muddy.
The GMX however isn’t all about bass. The tiny satellites perched on top of the left and right speakers also give out amazing highs. The high hats in Scatman John’s I’m the Scatman came out with amazing clarity alongside his faster-than-humanly-possible babbling.
For a 2.1 system however, the Klipsch ProMedia GMX A-2.1 is quite expensive at nearly 9000 bucks. You could get a fairly decent pair from other brands but they’d definitely fail in comparison. E.B. Mendoza

OutRAGEous
The unofficial motto of Klipsch’s founding father, Paul W. Klipsch is “Bullsh*t”. It’s the company’s battlecry against their competitors who falsely claim they made breakthroughs in audio technology.
