DIGITAL CAMERA
Light as a razor

Porn-Scandal scares aside, it's unwise not to have a camcorder steadily within an arm's reach these days. Panasonic had this in mind, delivering a compact, weatherproof SD camcorder.

The SDR-S10 is user-friendly. Flip open the screen panel and the control buttons will greet you. Thanks to a dial pad, switching between still camera, video and play modes is easy, too.

But never mind the still cam function—there's a slew of camphones for that. Turn your attention to the video recording function. Its mpeg-2 format means it's compatible with almost every editing application.

When used in sunny outdoors the results are brilliant. The colors seem livelier than what is seen by your bare eyes. Be wary of shooting in low-light locations, though: the SDR-S10 doesn't come with a flash, and its Color Night View mode is good for almost-still objects. Hence, no point of shooting in the dark. And hence, safe enough from shooting a "private" affair between you and a ladylove..
