Big bad baby
But it's us who got a spanking
We don't know what we've done to deserve visual S&M. Everything about this TV is spot on. For starters, the size is lovely. At 42 inches, it's just right for an apartment or a small house. But even if you live in a shoebox, space isn't an issue; you can literally sit down in front of it and not get eye strain, thanks to its fullHi-Def resolution.
But this slab of LCD goodness is not just about imagery. It's about great audio, too, which is handled particularly well by the included DVD/Home Theater Speaker system called “Ambisound”. The shiny piano black-finished box is capable of simulating a 6.2-speaker setup. There's a built-in DVD player that upscales standard discs to glorious 1080p via an HDMI connection. It does a fantastic job doing it too as the chase scenes in Casino Royale are nothing short of smooth. They can get too smooth when Motion Flow (a feature that digitally smoothens frames) is turned on but such limitations are mostly attributed to the source rather than to the tech.
Adding to the experience are, of course, the Ambilight bulbs at the back of the unit that give out an eerie hypnotic glow that sucks you into the movie.
In all, it costs quite a pretty penny. But the experience you'll be getting is, as a famous credit card puts it, priceless. Elijah Mendoza

LOVE Amazing images. The 6.2-speaker system.
HATE The whole thing takes a while to set up. You'll need an assistant even if you're as big as Batista
WE SAY Ambilight + Ambisound = Ambileivable
