LAPTOP
Is that an Apple? NOT!
It's a Compaq Presario with piano-white finish

For PC users longing for Apple's stylish, modern designs, here is the laptop for you! The Compaq Presario B2800 sports a designer piano white finish with sleek curves, and unique blue LED lights. The screen mimics the bright, glossy screen of a Sony Vaio, which, in Compaq-speak, is known as "BrightView technology". No Apple-style keyboards and short-cuts to get used to here. No files to rename, Mac-version programs to acquire, or fonts to hunt for.

The specifications aren't bad either. The base model has 512MB of RAM and 60GB HDD space. With an additional investment of three grand, the model can be upgraded to include a total of 1GB of RAM and an 80GB HDD, just like our test unit.

With 1GB RAM and an 1.73 GHz Intel Pentium M processor, performance is definitely not a problem. Equipped with the ATI Mobility Radeon graphics chip, your laptop becomes a home for visually rich and smooth multimedia. Thanks to ATI's Automatic Display Configuration (ADC) technology, you can connect to multiple monitors, display configurations of projectors for those professional presentations. For gaming fans, this laptop even has enough power for many of today's resource-hungry games.

The Presario B2815 comes with PowerPlay 5.0 that manages the workload of your computer. With it, you can view full-length DVD movies without searching for a power outlet. Battery performance is average, lasting around three hours.

With built-in b or g Wi-Fi, Internet access is never a problem. Integrated Bluetooth makes connecting to your cellphone easier. The only letdowns are the absence of a DVD writer, the weak bass from the built-in speakers, and the "white" matte finish keyboard gets dirty easily.

Overall, if you're looking for a distinctively stylish laptop with good performance, this model can truly give your money's worth. Darlyn Sandra Ty
