Fujitsu LifeBook A6020
On the way home to review the Fujitsu A6020, one thing was obvious right away: this was no Macbook Air. Mind you, this laptop doesn't even attempt to compete in the Zoolander-esque world of skinny laptops. This shoulder-dislocating beast is a far more serious machine.
The A6020 is engineered to survive environmental armageddon – or at least a nasty fall. The hard disk drive has shock sensor protection. We loved the huge 15.4-inch widescreen, but we were disappointed to find out that native resolution was a paltry 1024 x 720 – not ideal for viewing HD movies on the go. That said, pumping up the resolution and playing HD movies was no problem.
According to Microsoft, the A6020 is Aero-capable, but we found running Windows Vista Basic an experience akin to watching paint dry. Speed improved by installing all the updates to Vista, but not by much. The 1.73Ghz processor just isn't up to the task, and ideally you need to double your 1GB of RAM to run Vista decently.
Fire up the Wi-Fi and you have everything you need at your fingertips. Connecting is a breeze. Battery life is decent. Ergonomics is spot on. Fujitsu even thoughtfully placed some dedicated buttons for common tasks as well as useful LED indicator lights beside the keyboard. It has a total of 5 USB slots, a DVD burner, a card reader, and a fingerprint sensor. Think of it as the Anti-Macbook Air. Vince Sales

LOVE Solid and reliable. Large screen. Has everything the Macbook Air forgot.
HATE Weighs a ton. Non-HD native resolution. Sluggish Vista performance.
WE SAY If reliability and a large screen are more your thing than raw speed or sex appeal, this is the laptop for you.
