Nikon D60
Nikon's D60 is pitched head-on with Canon's 400D, with an anti-dust system and a sensor that turns off the LCD when you're using the viewfinder.Neither of these functions really warrant an upgrade for existing SLR users, but for newcomers, P36,000 is a mighty attractive price point.
The supplied Nikkor DX 18-55mm VR lens focuses quickly, and has a built-in optical image stabilizer which gives you a lot more flexibility when shooting hand-held, even in adverse lighting conditions.
Some might find it a bit too small and light, and the light metering can be hit-and-miss, but these niggles seem insignificant in the face of the Nikon D60's many good points. At under P40,000, it's a phenomenal deal.

HATE Build quality could be better. Some users will find it a touch too small.

Image stabilization
In-camera image stabilization is done by moving the image sensor to cancel out the movement of your hands – very clever technology that results in clearer images, especially in low light
